He has exhibited in San Diego, Los Angeles and Tijuana. Venues include the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, The Athenaeum Music and Arts Library, California Center for the Arts Escondido, Oceanside Museum of Art, Bread and Salt, Quint Gallery, Art Produce Gallery, CEART Tijuana, and Luis de Jesus Los Angeles.  In 2008 he recieved the San Diego Art Prize as an emerging artist, and in 2010 he was the recipient of the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego's Cerca Award. Currently Lael teaches sculpture & photography in the Dept. of Art & Design at Point Loma Nazarene University.
